Morris Vermaport Ltd are pleased to have added a further eight new energy efficient Toyota Prius vehicles to its service fleet. Moving away from the traditional ‘white van’, the hybrid vehicles, which are fitted with the latest tracker and satellite navigation technology, will enable us to not only move our fleet around the country in a time efficient manner, but also benefit from fuel consumption in excess of 70mpg! No complaints from our engineers either! We continue to search for more innovative and green products in line with our Core Values.

Morris Vermaport raised over £1,000 in Dragon Boat Challenge

Morris Vermaport Ltd would like to thank all of our suppliers who contributed generously for our Dragon Boat Challenge and raised over £1000 for the Rainbows Childrens Hospice Charity.

An entertaining day was had by all, and with our teams MV Argonauts finishing 10^th and MV Fearless finishing 27^threspectively, our customers can be thankful that we attend to their urgent lift needs in our new range of eco- friendly Prius vehicles and not by boat!

Morris Vermaport to compete in Dragon Boat challenge!

Some people may think we are taking our commitment to the core value of being Green, way too far, but it is a rumour that the new company vehicles will be dragon boats. Mainly because there are very few lifts sited close to rivers!!

The truth is Morris Vermaport Lifts has entered two teams in the annual Dragon Boat Challenge at this years Nottingham Riverside Festival on the 8th August 2010.

Dragon boat racing is an ancient Chinese tradition and the fastest growing water activity in Britain today – as well as the most fun! Up to 10 people paddle each 30’ boat with a drummer at the front beating time and a helmsman (oops that’s not PC should it be helmsperson!!) at the tail steering a straight course. No previous experience is required, just plenty of team spirit!

We are committed to our core values, one of which is CARE in all its forms, therefore we will be raising money for Rainbows Childrens Hospice. They offer specialist respite stays, symptom management, life improvement and end-of-lifecare for children and young people as well as support for the whole family.

We would like to ask all our valued customers and suppliers to sponsor us to help such a worthy cause.

16/04/10 Contract Award – UPP Exeter LaFrowda Site

Morris Vermaport Ltd is delighted to announce that we have been awarded a second contract by Cowlin Construction Ltd to install six Ecocell® energy saving lifts in the new student accommodation blocks at the LaFrowda campus, Exeter University. The installations will be spread over the next two years. We are currently starting the installation of a further four Ecocell® lifts at the Birks Hall campus. The accommodation blocks will be managed by University Partnerships Programme (UPP) who are the UK’s leading provider of on campus managed University accommodation. UPP specify Morris Vermaport’s Ecocell® energy saving lift as it is the most power efficient DDA compliant 8 person passenger lift currently available in the U.K and is an ideal solution for their Eco Residence construction model. This latest award at Exeter University further strengthens our partnership with UPP following successful projects at Loughborough and Leeds Universities.

08/03/10 Contract Award – East Midlands Housing Group

Morris Vermaport Ltd is delighted to announce that, following an electronic tender process and interview panel, it has been awarded a new ten year contract by East Midlands Housing Group, effective from 1st May 2010. The contract covers not only the annual maintenance of the 25 lifts across the EMH Group portfolio, but also a renewal and refurbishment programme that will see the vast majority of the existing lifts replaced during the contract period. EMHG were eager to appoint a lift company that offered not only a high level of service but was also willing to be flexible in its aproach and work closely as a long term partner to assist with improved efficiency and overall cost savings.

Morris Vermaport Ltd is proud to have been recognised for its continued investment in apprentices and the on-going training of all staff by winning Willmott Dixons Annual Supply Chain Award for Training and Development. Ian Lilley, Business Development Manager commented “Willmott Dixon are not only an important customer but a professional company that also dedicates a great deal of time and money to continued professional development and it is good to see that our efforts are not going unnoticed”. Morris Vermaport Ltd were also shortlisted for 3 other awards at the annual event.

Welcome to the Morris Vermaport Ltd blog page which, as time goes by, we hope will turn into an interesting, informative and occasionally by accident, amusing place to visit!

We are fully interactive and look forward to receiving any constructive comments, views and stories that may interest us or people in the lift industry in general.

After somewhat longer than expected, our new upgraded website is now officially launched and as a starter for 10, would appreciate any feedback on its design, user friendliness, content etc.

We have several exciting new products which we will focus some time on in the days to come, and we will also be encouraging our existing and new customers to register their details to enable them to receive our e-newsletters which will be published periodically throughout the year.
