Vermaport Shopping Cart (SC) Conveyor System

Benefits of the Vermaport

  • The Vermaport Shopping Cart (SC) Conveyor is infinitely safer than a moving walkway, furthermore it takes up to 50% less retail space than an equivalent walkway. Due to wide ranging studies identifying the hazard of transporting goods on escalators, it is accepted that the safest way to move people and their shopping carts between levels, is separately.
  • To transfer the equivalent number of customers and their shopping carts between levels (ie at a practical rate of 600/hour) would require at least 4 – 20 person elevators.  So the cost of a Vermaport Conveyor should be compared to the cost of the equivalent number of elevators and their associated builder’s work (ie shafts, pits and additional loss of retail space / car parking spaces).
  • The use of Vermaport Conveyors eliminates the congestion of queuing normally associated with elevators. The ease of access to all levels in a retail area increases customer satisfaction by minimizing the travel time between floors.
  • The Vermaport only requires a 100mm recess at the lower level as the drive unit is positioned at the upper end of the conveyor. Providing an easy solution to installing within an existing building.
